Chonghua Hospital

A NEW hospital has opened its doors to the public, providing not only accessibility but also hope for many, especially those diagnosed with cancer. Located along Mantawi International Road, parallel to Ouano Ave. in Mandaue City, Cebu is the new Chong Hua Hospital Mandaue and Cancer Center.

“As we are a cancer center, we aim to provide the community with a comprehensive portfolio for cancer screening and diagnostic,” said Dr. Honorisa Majan, head of the Ancillary II services of Chong Hua, during the press conference for the opening of the hospital last February.

The hospital will be providing the usual services that they have been providing for years with an additional building focused solely on cancer cure and research to strengthen the country’s battle against cancer.

“First, we aim to continually improve the cancer care in our communities, thus we have created and developed a Comprehensive Interdisciplinary Program that will fit the needs of our cancer patients and their families. We will promote a coordinated multidisciplinary approach to cancer management and this will be done by a team of experts. We have a team of experts to improve our cancer care and to personalize patient management that is based on science; evidence-based medicine to be able to reach whatever remarkable outcome we want our patients to have,” said Dr. Noemi Alsay-Uy of Chong Hua’s Cancer Center.

“We are fortunate to have with us the first Integrative Oncology Specialist in the Philippines in the person of Dr. Omid Uy Etemadi. We will create a holistic plan for patients’ care through the cancer survivorship care program that will cover nutritional support services,” shared Alsay-Uy.
